Project course: Slush Shanghai
Would you like to work abroad in an international setting? Get 10 study points and live like a local in Shanghai?
We are seeking five students with a drive to do project and event management in the startup environment. The setting for the course is Slush Shanghai. Travel expenses and accommodation are covered by the university.
The participating students will be on site in the destination for approximately 5 weeks, working in different fields with preparing and executing the event. Depending on your background and interests, you may work in the following areas:
marketing (communications, PR, social media)
investments (facilitation and matchmaking)
startups (organizing startup days and pitching competitions,
facilitating matchmaking with investors)
partnerships (contract management)
speakers and programme management (planning and coordinating programme, speakers, events for speakers etc.)
HR management (recruitment of volunteers, managing community events)

We expect your CV, overview of previous studies/completed courses and link to a 60 seconds video pitch why your are the one to send to Shanghai. The chosen candidates will be informed and a briefing of the courses and the tasks (practical details, travel dates, tasks, contact persons etc.) will take place.

The applicants will be chosen in cooperation with the local Slush Shanghai team. The chosen applicants will be informed during week 24.

Course description: During the course the student will deepen
knowledge, both theoretical and practical, in a chosen area (marketing, organization and management) through project and team work. Detailed content, including literature and theoretical approaches, will be agreed with each course participant individually. The course participants will form a team to support learning and advancement of project work. The learning outcomes are individual, but intended as increasing knowledge and understanding, as well as practical skills, in the areas of event organization and management, entrepreneurial business opportunity identification, and marketing communication. After a completed course the student will have gained knowledge of project management in an international context and is able to take cultural aspects into account in of marketing management.
Examination: project work on site depending on area (marketing,
investments, startups, partnerships, programme management or team management), individual literature package according to agreement, reflection papers and blogging, project report
Briefing event: attendees will be informed during week 24.
Travel expenses and accommodation are covered by the university.
